Biography

Maher Ben Chiekh is a Professor at the National Engineering School of Monastir (ENIM), part of the University of Monastir, Tunisia. He has more than twenty years of experience in teaching and research in the fields of fluid mechanics and energy systems. Since 2021, he has served as Director of the Laboratory for the Study of Thermal and Energy Systems (LESTE, LR99ES31), where he leads the laboratory’s strategic scientific activities and supervises several multidisciplinary research projects.

His research activities cover a broad range of topics, including advanced energy systems, experimental and computational fluid mechanics, renewable energy, green hydrogen technologies, and biomedical applications.

Prof. Ben Chiekh has coordinated and co-coordinated several large-scale research initiatives, including the consortium project “Technology and Economics of Green Hydrogen for an Energy and Ecological Transition in Tunisia” and the Horizon Europe program on energy systems modeling, OpenMO4Africa. He is the author of numerous scientific publications in international journals and regularly contributes to scientific committees while supervising PhD candidates and young researchers.

He has also completed several specialized training programs in energy transition and green hydrogen technologies, including multiple study visits to international laboratories and industrial facilities dedicated to green hydrogen production.
