Context
As part of their capacity-building activities, the Re-INTEGRATE and OpenMod4Africa projects are organizing a training course on three energy modelling tools. The training will be delivered in English by experts form ENIT, ENIM, and Prof. Andrés Ramos from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Madrid.
The main objectives of this summer school are to:
- Introduce energy systems modelling concepts to students and professionals.
- Build a network of future decision-makers.
- Foster synergy within the targeted community.
The training will cover three tracks:
- OSeMOSYS – Open Source Energy Modelling System (developed by KTH, delivered by CCG)
- GENeSYS-MOD – Global Energy System Model (developed by TU Berlin)
- OpenTEPES – Transmission and Generation Expansion Planning (developed by Universidad Pontificia Comillas)
Important: For the OSeMOSYS track, applicants must complete the Open University OSeMOSYS course and submit the certificate with their application.

- Having a TOEIC or TOEFL certificate would be an asset for the application

Selection Criteria
Applications will be assessed by the selection committee based on:
- Relevance of the academic/professional career to the training topics (energy and/or modelling)
- Motivation and commitment
Note: The lack of the Open University certificate is disqualifying for the OSeMOSYS track.
        Credits: According to the European system, the training is equivalent to 2 ECTS. A certificate of participation will be delivered.
        Selection: Due to the limited number of spots, participation will be by invitation only after evaluation.
        Technical requirements: A personal computer is required. At least 8 GB of RAM is recommended. For the OSeMOSYS track, a Windows 10 system is required.
      
Fees
Registration for the training workshop is  free 
and grants access to all training sessions.
Participants may apply for full accommodation 
(double room) and meals coverage. Selection will be based on the applications received and budget availability.
        
Additional fees apply for those wishing to benefit
 from accommodation (double room) and meals as follows:
- 900 TND for Tunisian participants
- 300 € for international participants (including bank transfer fees and accommodation taxes).
- Surcharge for single room accommodation is 300 TND ( 90 euros).
